Your third day starts early with an adventurous drive to two of Gangtok’s most revered spots:
- Tsomgo Lake (Changu Lake): Located at an elevation of 12,400 feet, this glacial lake is a breathtaking sight, especially when its turquoise waters reflect the surrounding mountains. In winter, the lake often freezes, providing an ethereal view.
- Baba Harbhajan Mandir: Pay your respects at this shrine dedicated to Baba Harbhajan Singh, a soldier whose spirit is believed to protect the region. Situated at an altitude of 13,200 feet, this is a must-visit for those intrigued by local legends.
Optionally, you can also visit Nathula Pass (depending on permits and weather conditions), which sits on the India-China border and offers an exhilarating experience at high altitude. Return to Gangtok in the evening for an overnight stay at your hotel.
